Hello, I’m Erlinda Aspiras, the lady behind the cookies. Here’s a little about me and my family.
I married my high school sweetheart, Kellen, in 2007 and it’s been a whirlwind since. We have four amazing kiddos and now we have our cookie business, Sifting Sugar. My husband is a graphic designer and I am a stay at home mom after years of longing to be home with my babies. I am a former Costco employee of about 14 years. I graduated from ASU and although my degrees are not in the creative realm, I’ve always had a need to create. Whether it was sewing, baking or teaching I loved coming up with new ideas. Growing up I loved helping my dad, nana and my tia Sylvia cook, sew and bake. My favorite memories are in the kitchen or behind my nanas sewing machine. I owe them for inspiring me to create. My nana and my tia introduced me to cakes when I was very young. Doll cakes, bear cakes, jack-o-lantern cakes, anything you could dream of. For a long time I made cakes for friends and family. It brought me joy to be apart of their celebration. In 2017 I jumped into cookies and I haven’t looked back. Each cookie is a blank canvas and I love it. After becoming a stay at home mom, my husband and I decided to make Sifting Sugar official. So here we are. Thank you for letting us be apart of your special celebrations. I truly love everything about this new venture and the fact that it allows me to be home with my family. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!
